Great Sex Tonight
I need to start by saying last week I kinda went hard on ladies. I don't know if I was a man in my previous life, my Capricorn thinking or what. As I have gotten older, I try to filter my brain and edit my speech. Sometimes those don’t quite work out. I do need to make one thing clear. I DON'T apologize. Moving on, and keeping with the theme of love. I do want to blog about something we all love ....SEX!
Sex is so important to ones whole being, its crazy. In sex nothing should be off limits. It astounds me at the huge spectrum of acceptable perversions going on in people’s bed rooms. I don't judge, I think it’s interesting and funny. And I believe that a happy sex life makes you a happy person. So do you! When 2 people aren't compatible sexually, what's the point? If no other room in the house, the bedroom has to be poppin! Or everything else goes to shit. Ladies if your man is not trying to fuck you every time he sees you, another ass is on his mind and he's trying to fuck that! I think us girls forget what a commodity we have since other women are so readily available. Even in porn, back when my parents where young it was kinda taboo to do anal. Only a few performers did so. They got top dollar to do it. Now what female performer doesn't? I say that to say, don't think your sex is the end all be all to sex acts. Regardless of how freaky you get, it’s someone out there that's willing and happy to make yo freaky ass look like a prude. Women get caught up in that mind set where they think “he better be happy to get what he get or else he won't be getting nothing!". Yes I admit it, I too have fallen victim to that way of thinking. Didn't matter how bad I wanted my freak flag to fly, no man was privy to that side of me. A lot of young women don't know how to voice what they want in the bedroom because we are taught our whole life to abstain from the bed room. We are taught that Sex=Love. **BREAKING NEWS** No the hell it don't! Sex and love can't be any further away from each other. Sex is an act. Love (or lack thereof) is the intermission between the acts. Don't be mad at the other person because of YOUR comprehension skills and you making things more than what they are. Sex is sex is sex. Nothing more, nothing less. Be smart about who you lay up with. Period Point Blank The END! It’s ok to say no if something makes you uncomfortable. But it’s also ok if you like it. Nothing is wrong with you. If your partner judges you for liking what you like, you need a new partner. Believe me the relationship won’t work out! The right partner will be ok if its missionary or some other shit I can’t even describe. LOL Life if too short for bad sex.
Do me a favor? Have some Great Sex tonight!!!! ;)

Tis the season of Love!
As we exit Capricorn season (January), we enter the season of Love. I, on one hand think that Valentine’s Day is Bull Shit. I mean really, making up in one day what your man/woman should be doing the other 300 some odd days of the year don't cut it for me. Don't get me wrong I love love love flowers and gifts but I don't want anything just because the calendar says its time. I get and give gifts year round. I kinda like the flare for no reason. Let me come home to flowers, balloons and a new bracelet in June. Not because he has to, but because he saw something that he wanted me to have. There will be a lot of insecure chicks all over they "man" (and I use the term loosely) wondering when, where, and what they will be doing on Valentine’s Day. You know them chicks kill me! They are the same chicks that put up with a nigga and all his Bull Shit just to say "I gotta Man". They believe Steve Harvey books are gospel. Use they boyfriend last name, and call him husband. And they blame the other chick for they man cheating and still stay. The same ones that think its ok for a dude to spend hundreds of dollars on them in 1 night but aint paid child support in 8 months. I could go on and on but I digress. I also know everybody aint like me, common sense aint that common, it is what it is, blah blah blah, and it aint easy being green, yeah I get it. Ladies, don't base your entire existence on how a man treats you. It’s not smart. Carrying on any type of relationship with a man and not having a label for it, is not smart. And I hate a dumb ass broad! There should never be a question of what I am to you. A man will inadvertently state his intentions with you from day one. Let's not try and change his stance. It won't work. I guess I go in on women because I hold us to a higher standard than men. We are the superior sex. Knowing how to play our position, when to work it, and when to take the L to make sure it gets worked. It’s definitely a skill you’re born with; or not.
I admit Adult relationships aren't for everybody. Come on now, who would I write about if we were all in respectable mature relationships? But don’t listen to me. I'm drunk half the time and dealing with my own problems the other. I'm just trying to save you some time before next thing you know you checking facebook all hours of the night and creating fake twitter accounts to follow him and the chicks he follow. All I'm saying is one day don't define a relationship. Him actually saying let's be in one kinda does. That's another blog though. LOL No on some real shit, Valentine’s Day shouldn't make it if it’s fucked up or brake what's good. So if all you keep coming up with are complaints, hurt feelings, and disappointment from being dogged out, I blame you! Take some responsibility and get a clue BEFORE you get another man.
Over the next few weeks I will be blogging about relationships and music, since this is the season. If you have any relationship subject you want to hear about. Let's talk hit me on Twitter or email.

We Rep the WEST!
I had this whole blog ready to go and post. Last week, I decided that I was gonna spot light an artist. One of my favorites right now, Nippey Hussle, but over the course of a week things have changed. If you don’t know, I am completely honored and excited to be the first to announce that I am now the official blogger for Cali Radio. #TEAMCALIRADIO I have supported Caliradio from the beginning as a fan of music and the West Coast, my home. Words can’t even explain how I feel right now to be apart of such an amazing team, movement, and family. West West, DJ Cali Slimm, Baby Girl, Party Man James, Classmatic, DJXtreme, I salute you all.
“We Rep the WEST”
This brings me to my change of heart on my original post. As I was speaking to our marking director about my future with Cali radio, she let me know that my blog will be read not only in America, but Internationally. That got me to thinking about what the world thinks about Los Angeles and California as a whole. One of my biggest pet peeves is out of towners’ misconception of my city. Listen folks, perception is NOT always reality. I have heard that LA is fake, LA is bouge , LA is so “Hollywood”, LA is full of nothing but plastic females and wanna be dope boys. Let me explain something to my readers, every other city on earth has all of those things and then some. And for the record LA don’t have dope boys. LA has Hood Niggas and Gangstas. Even among all of that my city is more than good weed. Our music, our food, our people, our weather. Where else can you go from 75 degrees at the beach and within a half hour hit the snow? Los Angeles has so many great things to offer beside that “Hollywood life”. My little area of Leimert Park alone has a farmers market, art galleries, Black family owned businesses and great restaurants. We also host the MLK day parade and festival, Jazz and blues festivals, and the annual Taste of Soul. This is all in one small area of Los Angeles. Lots more happens in Inglewood, Compton, Long Beach, all over. Give us a chance. Angelinos are beautiful people and our struggle is documented. I get that if you didn’t grow up here, you might not know, but don’t judge us when you don’t know us. Or go off of a couple of bad examples in a city of 3.7 million. I would never set foot in any ones home and not be respectful of where they live. I have love for everywhere.
So don’t you dare come to LA and talk bad about MY city. If you don’t like LA, F*** you as a Staff, Record Label, and Mutha f***n Crew! (in my Tupac voice) All I have in the end is my family and where I’m from, and I goes hard for both. You can email me; hit me up on twitter or any of the Cali Radio family if you need to know what’s what in LA. We welcome you to experience OUR LA.

Does selling records keep you relevant in music today?
I love about 90% of 90s hip hop artist. Hip hop was so diverse yet the flow was the same back then. You had rough. You had gangsta. You had love. You had party music. No one rapper was greater than any other leader of each respective crew. Everyone sold records everybody did shows everybody got money. I think maybe, because hip hop as a culture was still forming and
branding itself. It hadn't yet really crossed over to mainstream. It wasn't until the ladder of the 90s or early 2gs that those of us that had been around were able to see the fall from grace that many rappers faced. Companies folding. Music not selling. The internet becoming more influential in the development of acts, all made it harder for a OK artist to stay relevant. For example a rapper that had a buzz in 1996 with no mix tape. No internet. Just maybe a couple of guess spots on ok records. And 1 hot 16 bars on a hit, would have a deal, advance, the hottest management team and everybody wanting them. Back then even the most mediocre rapper was going platinum. 2012 not so much. Artist damn near have to have to touch of GOD himself to go platinum today. And often that's not enough to have a relevant career. Not in the days where rappers are selling more ring tones than records. Nas, one of if not THE best to do it ever! Has never won a grammy. Or a MTV award. And only has 2 multi platinum awards. Ice Cube is the best story teller ever hands down, & can't get air play on a new song in his home town. He only has 1 multi platinum plaque. WTF? Yet these 2 have managed to stay at the fore front of hip hip for years! I believe because they were greats among the great.
Today that’s all different. Even if you have talent, it takes much more than skill alone to maintain a stay in world of music. Not when music is not just music anymore. Music is the biggest product placement whore ever pimped! Every rapper has a clothing line to rock, a bottle to pop, a smell good spray, a book to read, a movie to watch, a credit card to swipe. LOL ok I just through that in there. But I laugh every time I see a RUSH card commercial. Basically music has become the avenue you take to get to “branding”, where the real money is. A rapper can have NO skills, can’t ride a beat, no delivery, no real concept or idea and have a 3 or 4 album career independently. 2Chains, Waka Flaka Flame, Gucci Mane all have a successful relevance in hip hop. Like it or not (Kanye shrug). Albums not selling is by no means going to change that. Numbers don’t matter today! They don’t lie, but they aint everything now. Look at Diddy Dirty Moneys Last train to Paris. The Album didn’t even go platinum. For puff that has to hurt. But I do know that Ciroc has shipped a million cases in 2011. Wiz Kalifah is a great example of how branding and timing play a huge part in ones career. Who knew Wiz before the 2010-2011 football season? I didn’t! He had 2 albums prior to Rollin Papers. In this case it was almost instant that once the Steelers made the playoffs that Wiz was a house hold name and as much as I HATE the Pittsburgh Steelers (Glad they lost this weekend by the way! Team COLTS) I couldn’t get that damn “Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow” out of my head. What this one song meant to a whole nation of terrible towel holders, Disney can’t create that kind of magic. His album Rollin Papers however, has yet to see platinum status. As big as Wiz is now and he cant sell a million albums, its a problem. A big one!
Now I have no issue with up and coming artist getting their money any way they can. My only complaint with the business today is that, some artist that I would love to see become these great entertainers might not be. Nippsy Hustle, Royce da 5’9 both have the talent to be amazing. Royce even has Eminem behind him, and still Bad Meets Evil has only gone gold. Im afraid to say that with only music these 2 artist might stay in the position they are in right now. And relevance fading with every new crop of artist coming up. I hear too much _______ (insert faceless rappers name here) and not enough GOOD MUSIC.
With that being said, I hate to present a problem and not provide a solution. My solution to this problem is if you are a fan of an artist, BUY THE ALBUM! Not the ringtone, not the single, but the whole damn album. Support everything they do. It makes a difference.
